Janet Jackson is a Trial Paralegal with the Law Firm of Muller & Sommerville, P.A. She has been in the legal profession for over 34 years. She has worked in all areas of law, and for the past 23 years she has specialized in criminal law, both state and federal.
Ms. Jackson obtained her Associate of Science Degree in Legal Assisting from Valencia Community College in 1993; her Certification from the National Association of Legal Assistants-Paralegals in 1994; Bachelor of Arts Degree in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida in 2002; Advanced Certification in Trial Practice from the National Association of Legal Assistants-Paralegals in 2009; and was one of the first Paralegals in the State of Florida to received her Florida Registered Paralegal designation from The Florida Bar in 2008.
Ms. Jackson is a member of the National Association of Legal Assistants-Paralegals and Central Florida Paralegal Association, Inc.. She was named "Paralegal of the Year" by the Central Florida Paralegal Association, Inc. for 2007-2008. She served as CFPA's Second Vice-President in 2009, and is currently on their Board of Directors and Ethics Committee.
Ms. Jackson is trained in Summation and Sanction legal software document organization and courtroom presentation programs.
Ms. Jackson is a volunteer Hearing Officer, in Seminole County, Florida, for Prosecution Alternatives for Youth (P.A.Y.), a pretrial diversion program for first time juvenile criminal offenders. She also serves on the Advisory Board for the Paralegal Studies/Criminal Justice Program at I.T.T. Technical Institute in Lake Mary, Florida.
